

Biography
Giacomo Ganzerli, born in 1997, is from Modena and currently lives in Bologna. He started playing the drums at the age of 14.
In 2012, after a year of self-taught practice, he began studying with Andrea Burani and Emilio Veneziano at the Musicology school in Modena. He left in 2015 to move to Rubiera, where he studied with Mauro Gherardi at the Diapason school.
In 2016, after graduating from high school with a humanities focus, he was admitted to the first-level academic courses at the “L. Campiani” Conservatory in Mantua. There, he studied jazz drumming with Fabrizio Sferra, Marcello Di Leonardo, and Marco Volpe.
That same year, he participated in the Croatia Drum Camp, an international seminar held in Croatia, where he studied with John Riley, Horacio Hernandez, and Steve Gadd.
In 2017, from July 23 to 29, he attended the Chioggia Jazz Workshop summer seminars in Venice, studying drums with Jeff Hirshfield.
In February 2018, through the Mantua Conservatory, he took part as a drummer in an artistic residency led by Georgian saxophonist Rezo Kiknadze. During this experience, he attended workshops and ensemble music lessons focused on free jazz.
During the summer of 2018, from July 23 to 29, he participated in the Fara Music summer seminars in Rome, studying with Kendrick Scott and Aaron Parks.
In August 2019, he attended the Nuoro Jazz summer seminars in Sardinia.
On June 15, 2020, he graduated with honors (110/110 cum laude) with a Bachelor’s degree in Jazz from the Mantua Conservatory.
In September 2020, he began studying for a Master’s degree in Popular Music at the Parma Conservatory, studying with Lele Melotti and Giuseppe Sereno.
Artistic Career
In 2021, Giacomo played with Colombre for the tour promoting the album “Corallo”. In the same year, he collaborated with the Soundtracks collective, working alongside Xabier Iriondo (Afterhours) and Enrico Gabrielli (Calibro 35) on two live film scoring productions: “City Visions” and “L’inferno di Dante”.
In 2022, he performed at the Mi Ami Fest in Milan with Francesco De Leo, and then joined him on the summer tour for the album “Swarovski”, sharing the stage with guests such as Maria Antonietta, Rachele Bastreghi, Vipera, and cmqmartina.
With the jazz/electronic trio RedEmma, he won the Encoder22 contest and performed in Portugal, Germany, and Austria, touring with their debut album “To Keep The Clouds Company”, featuring guests Marcello Allulli (MAT) and Francesco Ponticelli (Enrico Rava).
Since the summer of 2022, Giacomo has been playing and recording with Prim (X-Factor ’22).
In 2023, he joined Officina Della Camomilla, debuting at the Mi Ami festival in Milan and continuing with the summer and winter 2023/24 tour.
In 2025, he founded his first leader project, the Giacomo Ganzerli Trio, with Michele Bonifati on guitar and Daniele Nasi on tenor saxophone. In this year, he organized a tour to present the project, with dates in Italy, Germany, and China, also performing at the Shanghai Spring International Music Festival.
